Our founder, Neka Pasquale, didn’t set out to create Urban Remedy–it was a natural evolution of her passion for health and healing and living a lifestyle with “food is healing” as her mantra. Growing up in the farm-to-table culture of Northern California, Neka was inspired by people who care about what they eat and who strive to eat for health as well as pleasure. In her private practice of over a decade, Neka combined acupuncture and Chinese medicine with cutting-edge nutrition and lifestyle modifications to heal, balance and create optimal health. Neka started leading wellness retreats with her patients and over and over again they described experiencing life-changing results after just a few days. Inspired by these transformations, Neka knew she had found her calling and in 2009, Urban Remedy was born.

Fidel's Little Mexico has been a San Diego landmark since the early '60s when owner Fidel Montanez came up with the idea to serve tacos at his busy barber shop.
The shop was located in the heart of Eden Gardens, a small neighborhood in Solana Beach that was home to a number of Mexican families. The tacos sold like hotcakes, and before long, the place evolved into a neighborhood cantina.
The business thrived and expanded as Fidel converted his two-story residence into three different levels, including a festive courtyard, a couple of bars and outdoor patios, and a taco bar.
Today, Fidel's ranks among the top restaurants in San Diego County. Happy hour is offered four days a week in the large upstairs bar. Fidel's menu offers traditional favorites as well as house specialties that will transport you and your party South of the Border.
Bangkok Bay has been a family owned and operated restaurant since 2004. We are located in Solana Beach on the Coast Highway 101 nestled between the Del Mar fairgrounds and Del Mar beach. It was immediately after World War II in 1946 that Tony and Catalina Gonzales decided to open a restaurant on the present site. Tony had just returned from military service and Catalina, who had contented herself with staying at home while Tony was away, persuaded him to allow her to open a Mexican restaurant right in his parents' home.
Open at first only on weekends, the modest establishment could seat just 26 persons. Catalina did the cooking and Tony helped serve. Soon the word about their chiles rellenos, turkey tacos and other tasty food spread throughout the area and even as far north as Los Angeles. Travelers and local residents would line up outside for long periods of time as they waited to be served.
Soon the Gonzaleses realized that they would have to extend their business days to accommodate the hungry diners. Tony's Jacal, or “old building,” was enlarged several times during the intervening years and the present six-day week was established. Now the restaurant is open every day but Tuesday.
Traditional Mexican dishes are prepared with mild or hot seasonings to please the discriminating palate. The menu also includes some American entrees.
Tony passed away May 1, 1974, and Catalina passed on April 24, 2000. The tradition of serving fine Mexican food is being carried on by their two daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Gonzales family is proud of their cuisine and the years of devoted service they have given their customers, many of whom return regularly for the chiles rellenos and other Mexican favorites.

Initially a bike shop in the 1920’s, the historic building that is now Saddle Bar has been a rockin’ joint for over 30 years. Made famous as the Surf & Saddle for almost 2 decades, it has recently been updated and remodeled and is as popular as ever. Literally only a few hundred feet from the Pacific Ocean, Saddle Bar continues to be known as the place to go for great service, dancing, live music and DJ’s several nights a week.
We opened our first restaurant In Beverly Hills in 1985. Former federal prosecutors Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax combined their passion for food with fresh high-quality ingredients to create innovative, hearth-baked pizzas such as The Original BBQ Chicken, Thai Chicken, and Jamaican Jerk Chicken, cooked in an open kitchen. The restaurant gave California a place in the pizza pantheon alongside Chicago and New York. Our California twist on global flavors resonated with guests, and almost immediately, CPK became a bustling spot for business and family gatherings.
