At Barefoot, we responsibly source the most delicious culinary coffees. Our beans, Cold Brew coffee and cafes have won awards from Food & Wine Magazine, Huffington Post, 7x7 among many others.
Like wine grapes, we seek high quality traceable coffee beans grown in fertile soil, often in higher elevations, with ideal climates. Hand-picked when ripe ensures wildly delicious coffees!
Our cafes in Campbell and Solana Beach, California offer all of our delicious specialty coffee creations. We curate food and ingredients from the finest artisans, many of whom offer organic, gluten free or sustainable products.
SMALL BATCH ROASTING
Combining the science of coffee with our expert culinary palates, we roast to order in small batches. This highlights origin terroir and coaxes out the full complexity of flavor that is already present in the green coffee just waiting to emerge and dazzle your taste buds.
LIGHT VS DARK ROASTS
Our roasts focus more on developing actual flavor notes. Do you really want "smokey" coffee? Black, shiny beans may look good, but it generally means those beans are over-roasted (ie, burnt) and that's what you'll taste. The shiny oils should be on the inside of the bean!
As one of the pioneers of Direct Trade sourcing, we buy from the most conscientious producers and select coffees that take our breath away.
The higher price we pay for our green beans not only help our farming partners earn more money, but educational programs lead to better sustainable farming practices.
