The world-famous San Diego Zoo and its expansive Safari Park deliver wild sights and beautiful scenery to millions of adventurers each year. Home to more than 3,700 animals including Giant Panda, polar bears, giraffes and gorillas across 100 acres of land, the San Diego Zoo is close to downtown San Diego and within the historical Balboa Park. The San Diego Zoo Safari Park, located in North County, stretches for 1,800 acres and houses over 2,600 animals. Both parks emphasize conservation and education, with a portion of the Safari Park reserved as a native species habitat.
